ᐅ Control switch for masonry heater (also known as Swedish stove)

I am planning a Swedish stove for our dream house and have a few questions on the topic. I read that a switch must be installed on the window so that the exhaust hood can only be turned on when it is open. Is that correct? Does it make a difference for the exhaust hood whether it is ducted or recirculating? Is the switch already connected to the window when delivered, or do I need to handle that myself, such as drilling holes and laying cables?

If I understand this correctly, a switch like that is required in densely populated areas, right?

So, it’s not necessary for a detached single-family home. That’s good to know because we’re planning to get a Swedish wood-burning stove as well.

That’s exactly right. Even if the area is built-up, a Swedish wood-burning stove is worthwhile. When ordering, make sure to specify that something like this is needed. Then they will be informed and include it with the delivery.
