Hello,
we are currently installing a swimming pond. Although the water edge is quite shallow, I am starting to worry about my little one. However, I do not want to put a fence around the pond. Do you have any ideas on how I could secure the pond?

If the tarp is not stretched tight so that you don’t sink into it afterward. Otherwise, it is life-threatening even for an adult. You fall in, sink into the tarp, and the water pressure from outside then does the rest.
I would advise against that solution.Der Da schrieb:
A tarp is probably one of the most dangerous things you can use...You are right again; I didn’t think that through. However, I don’t think the alarm solution as an additional measure is a bad idea.

Hello,
the pond will be placed right at the edge of the property, so it will only be accessible from two sides, but you know how kids are—they don’t really pay attention to that. Honestly, I’m less worried about the neighbor’s children; if they’re old enough to climb over my fence, then they can swim as well.Although this argument makes sense, the law sees it differently, so you shouldn’t overlook this if you want to protect yourself legally. Your options include: a wooden pool deck, a safety net, a rolling cover made of rigid PVC or polycarbonate slats. As far as I know, there’s also an alarm system that sounds a warning if the pool water moves or if a sensor detects contact. This likely requires individual adjustment. I find the pool deck to be the most luxurious option, but of course, it clearly comes down to budget.
