I often hear that homeowners place a high value on a straight staircase. My husband also initially insisted on a straight staircase. But why exactly? I don’t understand it at all. What is the advantage? I actually find curved lines and arches much more attractive. Can someone please explain this to me?

It was very slippery, that damn thing.
Now we have it much nicer with railings on both sides and oiled instead of painted. I haven’t fallen off yet. 🙂

I’d say most people need a tool to overcome simple height differences several times a day but rarely want to show off their sequin dress on a show staircase. In that sense, a standard basic model is usually sufficient (I’m of course referring to 18.5/26).

You think so? For us, the staircase was a real luxury. We definitely didn’t want something standard or just a simple height difference solution.
