Good evening!

Today, while struggling again with cleaning the grill grate using our far too small utility sink in the utility room, this got added to the list for the new build:

A stainless steel utility sink with an interior surface of at least 500 x 400 millimeters (20 x 16 inches), preferably 600 x 400 millimeters (24 x 16 inches).

Apparently, those don’t seem to exist... I just searched thoroughly. It’s either huge sinks that need to be installed in a base cabinet or wall-mounted sinks, but those seem to max out at about 400 x 320 millimeters (16 x 13 inches). You can’t fit anything in those!

So, has anyone seen a stainless steel utility sink with decent dimensions anywhere? Appearance doesn’t matter, it just needs to be a wall-mounted stainless steel sink, and _large_.

Thanks and best regards,

Andreas

Well, then you haven’t really searched – I just found a 700 mm (27.5 inches) sink from Franke for the wall only, without a base unit, within 5 seconds on Google...

350 euros is quite a lot of money for a utility sink.

He did not ask about that.

Anyone who wants stainless steel, I assume they are also willing to pay for it.

Hello,
@Sebastian79, thanks, I missed that.
That would be something, although I’m now leaning more towards an undermount sink. For example, Mizzo offers officially large sinks at reasonable prices (150-200 €). Then you just put an Ikea sink base cabinet underneath for little money, and the job is done. It’s a bit more work than just screwing two screws into the wall, though.

But with a 700mm (28 inches) wide sink, I could still upgrade my grill setup...

Best regards,

Andreas

just make a proper fire underneath, then you don’t need a sink. After that, everything is burned anyway.

That’s what I always do too, but at some point you have to remove the ashes. If you only brush it off, quite a lot of ash stays on the grill grate. Not everyone likes the flavor that results...

Maybe also take a look at Kune. Keyword: Kune utility sink.

Are we in a housewives’ forum here?

Just use Profin for cleaning – it removes everything, no matter how old or baked-in the grease is.
