We are looking for half-turn bolt-on stairs made of white-oiled ash wood.
I have sent several inquiries to companies in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. We received offers with specific prices, but some included features we did not want.
From our experience, if you do not visit a company in person, the desired product is often not offered. It is very difficult for most companies to accurately convey the appearance and color of the wood digitally.
This was better with local suppliers. There we were able to choose the desired features and inspect the stairs. The offers were also correct in terms of content.
However, the price was several thousand euros higher than other similar offers.
Now I have found stair manufacturers in Poland.
These are quite normal companies, similar to those here in Germany.
However, it is still difficult to receive a clear offer that lists everything in detail. We cannot easily inspect the stairs because we would have to travel to Poland for that.
The company representatives say over the phone that the stairs will be made according to our specifications and at the offered price, but it is hard to get these commitments and details in writing.
Since stairs from Poland are about 5,000 euros cheaper overall than those from Germany, it is appealing to order from there.
I would like to ask you about your experiences with Polish companies.

Carlos Tresas2 Jan 2018 19:12Yes, I also have some concerns but can't find a suitable company. We don’t want anything unusual or special, just everything made according to our wishes. Often, the problems are with communication or understanding, not with quality or reliability.
