Hello everyone,
We are currently choosing the fittings for our bathtub and I would like to have a retractable shower hose. There are systems that use tension to automatically retract the hose back into the bathtub edge. These tend to be quite expensive. I’m wondering if this is really necessary, or if it’s just as easy to manually place the hose back into the edge without an expensive retraction system.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you very much

Then it’s better to reconsider. Neither with nor without moving in. Just a recommendation from me.

Thanks for the information – I already have the children. Anyway, that wasn’t my question.
I just wanted to know if a hose retraction system is necessary for the shower hose, or if it can simply be manually rewound – does anyone have experience with this?
Attached is a sketch of the bathroom. The red marking indicates the area where the bathtub fixtures need to be installed.
Thanks and best regards.

Hello Bene,
may I ask which system you have in mind?
About five years ago, I had an extendable hose with a pull system and can only advise against it. Recently, we visited a bathroom showroom and I wanted to see if anything had improved in the last five years.
No luck—it retracts just as poorly as it did five years ago.
However, we don’t want to have such a troublesome hose hanging around, so I’m very interested to know which system you’ve found.
Best regards,
Judyyy
