ᐅ Shower hose does not fit into the holder for the showerhead?

Sonni87Hello,
we found the following situation in our bathroom (see attached pictures), which the previous owners left for us... The hose is a standard shower hose, and the showerhead is also a standard model from Hans Grohe... but it does not fit into the designated holder in the shower.
The previous owners can no longer be contacted. How can this happen with standardized connections?

I’m not exactly sure how the standards apply here. As far as I know, the screw parts are standardized, but I wouldn’t be so sure about the actual bracket itself. In our rental apartment, the brackets were recently replaced (because they were broken), and each time a showerhead was included (although we still use the old one, which fits here as well, but just barely).
I would assume that at some point, only one of the two was replaced, which is why they don’t quite match...

Try rotating the bracket by 180°. It might be tapered.

I’m guessing it’s a matter of the decades changing. Measure it and buy a new head. There are some very nice models out there… with lights and stuff 😎
