ᐅ Is it absolutely necessary to connect a doormat drainage system to the building's drainage?

Hello everyone,
We are planning to install a recessed doormat just outside the front door. It will be placed under a 1.25-meter (4 feet) deep canopy and on a block step. Does it necessarily have to be connected to the drainage system, or would a stainless steel tray underneath that is cleaned regularly be sufficient?
I would appreciate any tips and experiences...

Do you also have a scraper installed in your house?
Could you possibly show one or two photos...?
We are planning to include this as well but are not sure whether to install it in the screed or a narrow frame with the tiles. We do. We didn’t leave any space in the screed. The frames are so flat that the tiler just integrates them easily and that’s it.
