Hello everyone,

Could someone possibly recommend, based on personal experience, any craftsmen or general contractors abroad whom I could contact? There are plenty of advertisements for craftsmen online, but I would appreciate it if someone here could help me.

So far, offers from local craftsmen (carpenter + roofer) are unfortunately in price ranges that make the project unfeasible. I would like to work with local craftsmen, but now I have to consider alternatives.

I am aware of the circumstances regarding hiring craftsmen from abroad. I am not looking for temporary workers.

Project:
Single-family house in Hesse
Approx. 185m² (2000 sq ft) roof area
Dismantling of the roof structure
Construction of the roof structure
Roof covering and insulation

Thank you for any help and sorry for the tiresome topic.

Good luck

I’m not looking for TEMU tradespeople either.

So why are you searching abroad and not for foreign tradespeople who are already located in your country?

Honestly? For this kind of job, that’s a completely ridiculous question. I can offer you tradespeople from Australia—a friend of mine works there. But you wouldn’t be able to afford him—the travel and accommodation costs alone would exceed your budget.

If your roof needs to be completely replaced (not just re-covered), there is probably a lot more work to be done on your house. In that case, I would ask one of the Polish window installers, tilers, or similar tradespeople. In my experience, they usually have contacts with other construction professionals (including in their home country), whom they recommend carefully to protect their own reputation.

May I ask what price range the local offers fall into? 120k? 150k?

Thank you for the feedback

@11ant, thanks for the idea. The other "small details" around it are mostly covered, but without the relevant contacts.

@HuppelHuppel, of course, you may ask. However, I don’t want to have an extensive discussion about it, as it would miss the point of my objective.
