According to the factory plans, our roof eave at the gable side is supposed to extend 20cm (8 inches) beyond the outer edge of the external thermal insulation composite system. However, it was built with only a 3cm (1 inch) overhang from that point.
The appearance is now not as desired or planned, and we suspect that our construction company obviously cut costs on materials here.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
Did you request a price reduction? If so, how much? Did you receive it?
Or do you consider this being overly picky?
Best regards

I would boldly request a correction first.

Hi,
it looks like someone didn’t quite read the plan correctly... I would first insist on execution according to the construction drawings. This might mean redoing the entire roof framework!
I have no idea what that will cost, but it will probably be at least five figures.
Of course, the construction company won’t want to do that. Then the question is: are you willing to live with this appearance forever? If yes, for what amount?
It’s also important: have you already made a formal written complaint? Otherwise, a deadline might expire, and it could be considered accepted!
Best regards,
Andreas

The factory planning, in which the 20cm (8 inches) is specified, was part of the construction contract. 20cm (8 inches) from the shell construction or the finished facade?
