Hello,
please see my question/request below. We are students in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and have to redesign an existing street. Now, some people say that there is a specific regulation (for that particular street) or guideline that dictates how a roof must be oriented toward the street up to a certain point. Is that correct?
These opinions probably come from the fact that there are many streets here with houses whose roofs are very uniformly aligned to the street (not terraced houses).
In my opinion, this is completely irrelevant, and it is up to each builder to decide how they want to orient their roof (and thus potentially also their house) toward the street, within the boundaries of the designated building plot.
Best regards,
Iba

That's right. And if there is no development plan, but instead Section 34 applies, which requires the new building to align with the surrounding neighborhood, and all the neighboring buildings have west-east ridge lines, you probably won't get approval for a north-south ridge line.
