Hello everyone,

I have one more question that is causing me some headaches with our project. What type of roof covering is suitable for a shed roof with a 10° pitch?

I keep reading that clay tiles can only be used from 12° pitch onwards. But here there is an option already for 10°.

Or should I stick with steel trapezoidal sheets?

P.S.: At some point, photovoltaic panels will also be installed on the roof.

Best regards

Whether we have an eaves overhang or not, does that also depend on the roof covering?

Brickwork still works at 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit). There were recently two other threads on the same topic. Maybe someone can link them. Roof overhangs should always be effective.

I would be very grateful for the links. I can’t find the threads.

I don’t like the word “eventually”: I’m okay with implementing that in a later construction phase, but I would plan for it from the start, especially regarding the pre-installation of connections. After a discussion with the photovoltaic planner, it might also be worth reconsidering the roof pitch, so that you don’t end up with “two different inclinations” (roof surface and photovoltaic panels). Solar modules tilted significantly less than the earth’s axis inclination are inefficient; on flatter surfaces, they are usually tilted accordingly. This can look visually unbalanced.
