Hello,

We received an offer from the builder for additional costs to increase the basement ceiling height and to add a home office including underfloor heating and a daylight window for about 16 m² (170 sq ft) at over 8,000€.

Is this extra charge reasonable?

What should be considered when planning such an extension?

It is a semi-detached house with underfloor heating and an air-source heat pump.

Thank you in advance!

I would also recommend having a fan installed in the utility room.

Hello Bauexperte: I asked the builder about a fan as you recommended, and they offered me a humidity-controlled exhaust fan (MC ECA 100 IPRO H) along with trickle vents in opposite rooms for about 700€ (about 770 USD).
Is this okay?
Wouldn’t a decentralized ventilation system be a minimum requirement for a new build like this? And what would the cost be?

Thank you very much!
