ᐅ Add a roof to the conservatory and insulate it

Hello everyone! This is my first post, and I’m looking forward to an active discussion! I have a question right away:

A conservatory was added later where there used to be a terrace. I want to convert it and use it as a full living space in the future. The roof is currently made of plexiglass and needs to be replaced with a proper roof and insulation. In the picture, you can see: the dark area is the ceiling of the first floor; the light area is the plexiglass. The floor is the former terrace floor, covered by carpeting. The area is about 20 sqm (215 sq ft).

How would you approach this? Do you have any good advice? And most importantly, how much would you estimate the cost to be if a professional handles this?

Best regards!

Thank you for your response. It helps me a lot again. My actual goal is a renovation into genuine living space. That means an insulated roof, plastering or drywalling the wall, and removing the partition door to the current living room. Who can provide a final and completely reliable assessment – I assume it would be a building inspector or surveyor?

Assuming permission is granted here, would it be possible to further narrow down the costs remotely?
