ᐅ Protect the foundation from moisture

Hello,

I am new here and bought a house four months ago. Now we want to start thinking about the foundation of the house. It is a strip foundation. The foundation is surrounded by soil on the outside and covered with gravel. I have always been told that having soil directly against the foundation is not ideal (because of moisture). I dug out a little bit and would now like to know what can or should be done, or if anything needs to be done at all.

I have attached two pictures. As you can see in one of the pictures, I would like to plaster the upper part because it is visible on about 4/5 of the house.

I would appreciate any helpful answers.

Best regards,
Volcano

Or is it sufficient to just remove the soil in the area shown in the picture and replace it with gravel?

It looks sandy anyway..... or not?

It’s a mix. Sometimes more sand, sometimes more soil.
