Hello,
I am new here and bought a house four months ago. Now we want to start thinking about the foundation of the house. It is a strip foundation. The foundation is surrounded by soil on the outside and covered with gravel. I have always been told that having soil directly against the foundation is not ideal (because of moisture). I dug out a little bit and would now like to know what can or should be done, or if anything needs to be done at all.
I have attached two pictures. As you can see in one of the pictures, I would like to plaster the upper part because it is visible on about 4/5 of the house.
I would appreciate any helpful answers.
Best regards,
Volcano

Sebastian7925 Aug 2015 19:18What kind of problem with the strip foundation? It's always in contact with moist soil and has nothing to do with dampness inside the living space – there is a concrete slab above it, which should be properly sealed – or are you referring to that?
