ᐅ Structural issues identified by the construction company

Hello everyone!

I wanted to ask if anyone might have experience with the following issue:

We planned our house with an architect, who also handled everything related to the structural engineering. After that, our paths parted.

Now, we handed everything over to a construction company to build our shell. Our contractor noticed errors in the structural design (for example: the chimney passes through the upper ring beam and other issues). Keep in mind that the structural engineer has already been paid.

Our contractor had to make changes to the drawings as well as to the structural calculations! As a result, this will lead to additional costs for us.

Do you think there is any way to take action regarding this? Money has already been paid, so one would expect that the plans are reliable and everything is in order for us.

The chimney is also located in a rather unfortunate spot.
