Hello,
I am currently planning the renovation of my old house. Now the question about the windows arises. What are the advantages of wooden versus uPVC (plastic) windows? Somehow, this has not become entirely clear to me in the discussions so far. I get the impression that some people strongly prefer uPVC windows while others lean more towards wooden ones.

Hello
I swear by wooden windows. They are usually more attractive in appearance and actually not that difficult to maintain. If the paint starts to peel or fade, which will eventually happen due to weather, you can simply repaint them. It’s not a huge task. If you have many windows, you don’t have to paint them all in one day.
Best regards, rosanne

Maier GmbH16 Oct 2008 10:40I don’t think wooden windows are more difficult to clean. I have some and haven’t had any issues with them. As long as they are smooth and free of decorative details, cleaning is not a problem.
