Hi everyone
I hope to find some people here who can help me plan our carport.
We bought a house last summer. Next to the house is a driveway that is 3 meters wide (10 feet) before the neighbor’s property begins. I want to build a carport there. I am thinking of an attached carport. I would also prefer one made of aluminum.
Is the offer reasonable, or should I invest more? Is there a general price limit for a decent carport? I feel like this offer is already close to my budget limit...
What I like is that it is made of aluminum and therefore low-maintenance, that it includes the downspout and gutter, and so on. It seems like a good overall package to me.
The carport would be located northeast of the house. In my opinion, that is not the side exposed to the worst weather. I’m not exactly sure about the soil conditions but I think it’s rather clayey. A building permit / planning permission should be possible since the previous owners also had a carport on that spot. For the offered model, I would like to mount the side without posts to the house, because otherwise I would worry that it might swing in the wind and knock against the house wall... But I still have absolutely zero knowledge about the whole topic...
Are there any specific things I should pay attention to?
I hope you can shed some light on this!
Thanks and best regards,
etchen

Since I have been dealing with garages and carports for about half a year now, I might have some helpful tips, including information about suppliers where you can freely configure options like increased snow loads and more. Unfortunately, I cannot post these here, as it might be considered advertising. If you are interested, just send me a private message.
What I can generally contribute: You get what you pay for. Buying cheap means buying twice. However, 8,000–12,000 for a 3x6m (10x20 ft) structure is still a bit excessive.
Concrete pad footings properly installed cost around €150–200 (approximately $160–215) each.
Embedded H-beams cost about €35 (about $38) each.
Wood frame construction: €2,000–5,000 (roughly $2,150–5,400), depending on the design.
Roof covering: €500–3,500 (around $540–3,800), depending on the type used.

Andi
