we are still in the planning phase for our house and are currently considering a secondary apartment (about 50m² (540 sq ft)) in the attic.
Our plan is for the secondary apartment to be located in the attic and to be accessible separately via an external staircase.
I have already thought about things like coordinating the plumbing connections in the attic with those on the ground floor, but I’m sure there are many other factors to consider as well (supply lines, electrical circuits, subsidies, noise, etc.).
It would be great if anyone could share their experience regarding special considerations during the planning stage or later while living with a secondary apartment.
