Our walls are plastered with lime gypsum. Is an additional white paint necessary? If yes... Can dispersion paint also be used, or does it have to be a silicate paint?
Best regards, andi

Both options are possible.
Leaving it raw is not an option.
We used the same plaster. In the utility room, I filled it, sanded off bumps, and applied two coats of Sto Basic, without primer. It worked well and provides good coverage.
In the kitchen, we applied a primer first, then had fiberglass mesh installed with latex.
In the other rooms, we filled, scratched through, removed bumps, and applied silicate paint on Sto plaster primer, using a brush plaster technique. On top of that, we are now applying Sto Color in a light cappuccino shade with plenty of milk. None of this was decided by me alone; the work was done together with my brother, who is a master painter.
