ᐅ Curtain overlap for patio door

I would like to know how you have handled this.

How far does the curtain/drape extend on the wall to the left and right of the terrace door opening? In other words, how much of the wall is covered? I hope you understand what I mean.

So 35 - 40 cm (14 - 16 inches) are planned here. There are no pictures yet; the curtains are currently being sewn...

I know what you mean, but curtains really do collect dust.
Back then, when they were still common, they were about 15cm (6 inches) long. The important thing wasn’t how much, but THAT the corners/reveal areas were covered.

By curtain/drape, I didn’t mean the traditional curtain that hangs in front of the sheer curtain, but rather what you commonly have hanging there.

The question also had a different background. The distance between the ventilation unit and the window/door opening—to fill the gap with what is "hanging."

Nothing at all!

We have 20cm (8 inches); this resulted from having sliding curtains for the first two years, which we have now replaced with regular ones. And it still fits.
