I am currently trying to optimize storage space in a very small kitchen using the Ikea METOD system in the most efficient and space-saving way. My kitchen measures only 2.5 x 3 meters (8.2 x 9.8 feet), and I want to create as much usable space as possible without increasing the feeling of crampedness. I am considering various organization options, the modular adaptability, and smart solutions like pull-outs, corner cabinets, or wall cabinets. Are there any specific recommendations on how to use storage space with METOD furniture really efficiently, especially when space is limited? Which combinations of cabinets, internal fittings, or accessories have proven effective? And what should I definitely pay attention to in order not only to gain storage but also to ensure quick accessibility and a comfortable work surface?

It’s also important to plan enough workspace and to avoid blocking pathways in the kitchen.I fully agree. Good ergonomics is even more important in small kitchens than having a lot of storage. The countertop should be kept as clear as possible since most tasks take place there.
Additionally, I would add that for METOD fronts, it’s best to choose handles that are easy to use and do not protrude into the movement space.
