Hello everyone,

I’m new here and interested in hearing about experiences with the OMNEJD range hood.
Has anyone installed it yet? How loud is it on the lowest setting, or generally speaking?

I was actually considering a higher-quality range hood, but we really like the design, especially the storage compartment and the bars for hanging dish towels...

Since we planned a low-energy house, there should be no problem with the exhaust air...

We are torn back and forth:

OMNEJD range hood
- Appearance: excellent
- Performance: acceptable
- Price: so-so

BOSCH DIB097A50
- Appearance: acceptable
- Performance: adequate
- Price: acceptable

A difference of 10 dB corresponds to approximately double the perceived loudness.

A difference of 10 dB is perceived as twice as loud, although it is difficult to define exactly what "twice as loud" means, and it can vary from person to person.
For example, a dishwasher operating at 42 dB is very quiet and hardly noticeable, even in an open-plan kitchen. A machine producing 50 dB is perceived as loud and disturbing.

The best option would be to visit again and listen to a test, although it is usually not as quiet there as at home...

...

I don’t want to be a killjoy, but especially with energy-efficient houses, the technician shows up at the end with their blower door test equipment, seals your front door with a plastic sheet, installs the blower, and sets up a pressure sensor inside the house. When the blower extracts air from the house, there should be negative pressure if the building is airtight, but this doesn’t happen to the expected extent if air enters through the wall box.
Then the subsidies can be quickly withdrawn.

You should clarify this with your architect or builder in advance.

I also have a wood-burning stove with a dedicated ventilation shaft; you can forget about any additional draft assistance...
It is neither a passive house nor a low-energy house, but that shouldn’t be a point of discussion here.

Then it’s good for you. But in one post, you wrote "low-energy house."
