Hello,
We are building a KfW 55 single-family house with a general contractor (GC). The GC works with an energy consultant who states that he has prepared the required documentation for structural safety, thermal insulation, and soundproofing. He is responsible for verifying that the construction complies with the approved specifications after completion. This requires random inspections on site.
We have now received an offer from the energy consultant for this, since the GC does not take care of it:
2 random inspection visits of the thermal insulation, documentation, and a compliance statement for €1130 including VAT.
50% of the cost is covered by the KfW.
Is this price reasonable for the service?
How exactly are these inspections carried out? Does he just come and have a look? In this case, should thermal imaging surveys (to detect thermal bridges) also be conducted?
Regards
