Good evening,
after the carpenter came today to install my newly purchased Ikea kitchen, we noticed a significant color difference between the two solid wood countertops in beech (we have checked the article numbers). The 126 cm (50 inch) countertop is almost as light as a birch countertop 😕
Please see the attachment!
Is this an acceptable standard from Ikea? Is there any way to make the countertops match?
Unfortunately, an exchange is probably no longer possible due to the customization...

you can clearly see the deviation, so why did you already install the panel?

sabri84@gmx.de18 Apr 2012 17:44Because I had to manage without it for two weeks and the carpenter was scheduled and available on those two days.
In hindsight, I’m of course annoyed too, because at first I thought it might be possible that the color varies significantly from tree to tree. But now so many have said that beech wood definitely can’t be that light.
Well, at least the kitchen won’t be cold anymore today:

It’s already quite valuable. The rest will be resolved later—or hopefully will pass as a design feature 😀
