Good morning everyone,
our heat pump, brand Novelan, model LAD9, has been showing error 704 for six weeks now, always when it gets cold outside. More precisely, this error occurs whenever the temperature drops below freezing, indicating a hot gas fault.
We have called the manufacturer many times, but currently they cannot supply the compressor, which according to them needs to be replaced.
The error keeps recurring, and the manufacturer provides no information at all—also no response to my question about what happens if our system suffers further damage due to the delivery delay. Therefore, my question to you is: do you know what rights we have in this situation? The system is 3.5 years old.
The only thing customer service mentioned over the phone is that we could switch to the electric heating element. That means heating with electricity... and when I asked about the high electricity bills we would have to pay, of course, I did not get any answer. Great service...
Thanks and best regards,
Ina

Ok, strange. Shortly before Christmas, I also had a problem with our heat pump from AIT, and someone from the factory service came within 3 or 4 days.
I would definitely recommend having a technician come out; maybe you’re lucky and it’s just something minor.Hey, well, on the phone they told me there’s a 99.9% chance it’s the compressor, so no one will be sent before the replacement part arrives :-/D

Hi Daniel,
yes, exactly, still only for hot water preparationHello, then consider producing hot water with the electric heating element to keep the compressor available for heating operation.
Best regards

Hey, so someone told me on the phone that it’s 99.9% the compressor and that’s why nobody is sent out beforehand. Only once the replacement part is available :-/ Yes, unfortunately, that’s likely the case. As I mentioned in the other thread, compressor failures are unfortunately becoming more common with this model series. They all initially show error 704 during domestic hot water production...
