Hello,

First of all, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Hannes, I’m 34, and I live near Tübingen with my wife and our one-year-old son. We will soon be moving into our house, a renovated old building. The current Faktum kitchen has to go for many reasons... no dishwasher, oven not child-safe, cabinets in the way, etc.

In the long term, the kitchen will be a two-row layout. But since the dining table will still be in the kitchen for now, only one row will be replaced at first. The refrigerator will be moved to the other side immediately.

Attached is a small hand drawing… (sorry, the IKEA planner keeps crashing on me lately…)
Fronts: Ringhult white
Handles: If needed, Blankett long
Countertop: 290 cm (114 inches) long... tricky - I want it as one piece. I spoke with a hardware store, and they can deliver suitable depths and lengths within 10 days. I’m undecided whether to go with solid wood or laminate… light or dark? What would you choose for this room?

I ordered appliances yesterday:

Neff Mega BE 1542 N built-in oven stainless steel B15E42N3
NEFF TD 1342 N TouchControl cooktop 60 cm (24 inches) T13D42N2
Neff GX 51 fully integrated dishwasher S52N52X1EU

and the sink

BLANCOLANTOS XL 6 S-IF 519709

For the faucet, we will probably go with the “Grohe Minta”.

The dishwasher is 86.5 cm (34 inches) high; that shouldn’t be a problem, right? The cabinets stand on legs, and the countertop will be 88 cm (35 inches) above the floor?

I’m grateful for any input 🙂

Best regards and many thanks

I would clearly go with option two. It’s not very practical to have the sink installed directly in the corner against the wall. I once had that in a rental apartment, and even the smallest dishwashing task became a logistical challenge. Where do I put the dirty and where the clean items? So definitely option two 🙂
