Hello dear forum,

I am a complete beginner when it comes to heating technology and hope to get some helpful guidance here.
We have a Viessmann boiler, model 1601 193R.

We want to replace it. We made a small "Google" attempt to see if it’s even possible for a layperson to compare systems. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy for us.
So here are the basic requirements for the new model:
Gas
Manufacturer doesn’t matter
Hot water storage tank (or none, if you think tankless water heating is better)
Heating circuits or operating mode controllable via smartphone
Error messages accessible to the end user (not just the technician or partner) via smartphone as well
A system that is very maintenance-friendly from your point of view and has good spare parts availability

We have two floors and a living area of 155 m2 (1670 sq ft). I hope I have provided enough information to maybe get a first suggestion. What we wonder is how much “kW” output we should pay attention to, etc.

Please forgive the beginner questions. Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards
Lucas

Well – but five years earlier than planned? It’s not like a car you can show off with. And in five years, you might have a clearer idea of which direction to take...

Just my 2 cents...

I definitely agree with that. If it’s still working and the chimney inspector gives their approval, I wouldn’t replace it prematurely.

You are all right. It sounds and is indeed too early. I actually wanted to start with a kind of brainstorming. Maybe also find out which manufacturers and/or models are being mentioned. Regards
