ᐅ Narrow interior door for the attic – any ideas?

Hello dear forum,

We moved into our property about 2 years ago and now need a door for our converted attic.

The problem is that the opening is only 60 cm (24 inches) wide, and we have no ideas on how to make it wide enough to comfortably pass through. I am open to creative suggestions.

What is the door supposed to separate or protect against?

The main focus should be on reducing the noise level. When I am upstairs (office), you can hear almost everything from the stairwell.

In that case, a curtain should be enough. It can be a bit thicker and denser, which will provide good sound insulation.

Sure; felt would be suitable, as would loden or velvet. You can edge the corners with leather if you like the look – this will make it very durable.
