Hello roof experts,
is there a specific name for this silver-gray rail/strip/gutter/thing that can be seen in the photo here between the roof tiles of the main roof and the bay roof?
And related to that: Is it normal for it to be this wide and prominent, or could it be made less noticeable somehow (for example, painted black)?

Better to make it slightly wider than to have water regularly overflowing the throat. This can inevitably lead to damage.
