ᐅ After cleaning, my KALLAX shelf developed spots—how can I remove them?

Hello everyone,
I have an IKEA KALLAX shelf that, after a thorough cleaning, has suddenly become prone to spots – I mean that after wiping, several unpleasant water spots and streaks appeared on the surface that weren’t there before.
I cleaned the shelf with a slightly damp microfiber cloth and then wiped it again with a dry cloth, as recommended. Still, these spots remain visible, which affects the overall appearance quite a bit.
Does anyone have experience with this issue? Are there specific cleaning products or techniques that can help make the shelf look uniform and spot-free again without damaging the surface? I prefer to avoid aggressive cleaners since the shelf is made of coated particleboard.
Thanks in advance for your tips!

Did you perhaps use tap water? If so, try cleaning with distilled water.

Mineral deposits from tap water are often the cause of stains on many types of furniture.

Simply switching to distilled water for cleaning can solve the problem.
