I’m new here and would like to tap into your collective knowledge for some information.
We bought a house from the 1980s that is fully brick-faced.
In some areas, the mortar has come loose.
Sometimes this was caused by drill holes made by the previous owner.
Now I would like to buy more mortar to repair the damaged spots.
It is a coarse mortar with small stone inclusions.
My initial research pointed toward something like a so-called “historic masonry mortar.”
Unfortunately, I can’t upload a picture. My permissions are limited.
Does anyone know what type of mortar this could be and where I might buy it? Or maybe a similar mortar that isn’t too different from what I described?
That would be great.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards, Benny
