Hello everyone,
Almost a year ago, we built a carport from Karibu. Everything went well during assembly. Unfortunately, now the carport has severe mold growth on two sides, and I would like to know what I can do about it.
I never painted the carport because Karibu says that pressure-treated wood does not require painting.
Can I sand it down, and if so, what should I use? After sanding, should I then paint the carport? If yes, with what?
Thanks for any help.
Best regards

A few of my tongue-and-groove boards looked like this. The seller had stored them outside under a tarp, and where water had collected, the boards appeared this way. I treated them with hydrogen peroxide and then let them dry indoors for a while. After weeks, there was no further spread, so I moved them to the attic. I don’t mind using them now...
But tongue-and-groove boards are not pressure-treated, and I’m afraid the boards in your picture are probably not pressure-treated either.
