ᐅ Moisture seeps into the plaster.

Hello dear forum,

the moisture from the night is moving from the sand into the plaster (there is insulation behind the plaster). This is how it looks every morning. During the day, it usually dries completely again.

Should the company have installed some kind of separation between the house and the paving?

Should I sweep out the sand again? Can the insulation be damaged? Either by the moisture or possibly later by frost?

Would it help to remove as much sand as possible and replace it with gravel or something similar?

I hope someone here can help me.

Best regards

Hmm, the issue here seems to be less about the lack of waterproofing at the base and more about moisture coming from above affecting the retaining walls.

As with mcburns, the sand is on the wrong side and it simply retains the moisture. Can I replace the material on the sides with something else or seal it? The retaining walls have been freshly plastered and therefore look like that.

Hello, I had another company here yesterday and they also said that the dimpled membrane is missing. We will probably have to check again with the contractor why it wasn’t installed.
