Hello everyone,
We recently moved in but are having problems with the satellite system. We aligned the dish using a test device provided by the electrician. We have a quattro LNB on the dish. The 4 coaxial cables go into a multiswitch in the attic, where 6 satellite cables are connected. The multiswitch has an external power supply.
At first, we had no signal at all. After a friend visited (unfortunately, I wasn’t there that day), the TV worked. He simply connected the Hamburg cable from the LNB directly to the satellite cable for the living room. So far, everything works fine.
Now I want to set up another TV in different rooms. So, I reconnected the Hamburg cable back to the multiswitch and connected the other satellite cables to its outputs. But now I only have 50-60% signal strength and 0% quality, and only channels like ARD, ZDF, Phoenix, etc. are working.
Can you please help me understand why the multiswitch is not working properly? I am getting really frustrated.
Since I’m not very familiar with this, please use simple explanations.
Thanks.

I'm not really an expert in this area, but in my opinion, a multiswitch requires an LNC and not an LNB.LNB is actually correct. However, it could be that instead of a Quattro LNB, a Quad LNB is installed. This might possibly explain the issues described. Perhaps also consider consulting a forum specifically about digital television. Links are not allowed here, even if they would be useful.
