Hello dear community,

I visited the construction site today and noticed that the vapor barrier above had slipped into the insulation. Due to the rain, it is now soaking wet. Does it need to be replaced?

I would be very grateful for advice from an expert.

Thank you and best regards

Thank you for your response. I thought someone might have had a similar case and could share their experience, or perhaps there is a plasterer in the forum.

Some of the insulation wool got wet on our site as well. The construction company wanted to just let it dry. However, the expert said that everything must be removed and replaced with new material, because after drying it no longer has the same insulating value. This has already been mentioned here as well.

I will insist on that too. How did the construction company respond? Did they simply replace it or was there a lot of back and forth? Thanks

No, it was done without much discussion.

We had thoroughly soaked insulation wool under the roof due to storm damage, which was also replaced, and the insurance approved it immediately. Their assessor agreed with this as well.

Update:
The insulation is being replaced.
Thanks to you all
