Hi!
I have a question: how do you actually make apple juice? I have two old apple trees in my garden, and most of the apples spoil because we never manage to eat them all. Also, they’re not really good for eating. So recently, I thought I could make juice from them. Thanks for your information...

Obviously, the easiest way is to use a juicer. That allows you to press the apples into juice very simply. If you don’t have a juicer, you can try the following:
Roughly chop the apples, put them in a cooking pot, and mash them with a masher. Then add 1 liter (1 quart) of water for every 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of apples. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. After that, strain the liquid through a fine and large hair strainer. Pour the strained juice back into a pot. Add 40 grams (1.4 ounces) of sugar. Bring it to a boil again and skim off the foam. Finally, add 0.5 packets of canning aid and stir well.
You only need to sterilize about 4 bottles in hot water, fill them with the juice, seal them tightly, and the apple juice is ready! Unopened, the juice will keep for 1 year.

that sounds really good. I don’t have a juicer either, and I didn’t know you could make apple juice like that. It’s definitely worth a try! 😉

Of course, there is also the option to use the whole apple (except for the core and skin, of course) to make delicious applesauce! 😉 And from experience, homemade apple juice is not particularly easy on the stomach and is also extremely acidic. 🙁 But maybe I just had the wrong recipe or the wrong apples? 😕
