Hello dear forum community,

I would like to know how you are currently finding a reliable landscaping contractor. I get the impression that their schedules are so full that a new construction project isn’t attractive enough for them. Of course, budgets are often tighter these days, and maybe it’s simply more enjoyable for them to work for clients who want to improve an existing garden rather than for those starting from scratch. However, for a layperson, it is almost impossible to turn a construction site into a reasonably usable garden. What are your experiences? Do you have any tips? Can you help me?

Best regards,
Yours, Paul

And already worn out.
Or have we been putting the wrong kind of strain on our bodies for years or even decades, or rather not enough strain? Sitting a lot, for example, is the leprosy of modern times.

A brief explanation: Since last year (about three months after starting the first electrical installation) I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and some joint issues (not yet diagnosed). So, nothing terribly serious, but it’s certainly not pleasant.
Fine motor skills have become difficult.
Surprisingly, my back and knees still hold up (after sufficient rest between work sessions).
What really wears me out, though, is that I can no longer see well up close once it gets somewhat dark (which, in my opinion, happens far too early).

I’m just in my early 40s, and my body is already giving up. Is there anywhere I can file a complaint?

What do you think was the cause related to your own work? Sanding, polishing?

Get well soon!

That would support a back that is still OK. But working at a screen and keyboard certainly contributes to presbyopia and carpal tunnel syndrome.

It started with numb fingers after installing the insulation under the floor. Sanding and painting then brought on the pain as well...
Thank you

Oh, and especially plastering was really tough. I often experienced numbness and a kind of pressure pain very quickly. Although, I actually enjoyed it a little bit.

Sounds like a combination of a predisposition and an unfavorable strain on that very predisposition.

I wish you a speedy recovery!

Yes, I probably have quite slim wrists. And the last time I did any hands-on work was about 15 years ago.
Thank you!
