Hello dear forum community,

I would like to know how you are currently finding a reliable landscaping contractor. I get the impression that their schedules are so full that a new construction project isn’t attractive enough for them. Of course, budgets are often tighter these days, and maybe it’s simply more enjoyable for them to work for clients who want to improve an existing garden rather than for those starting from scratch. However, for a layperson, it is almost impossible to turn a construction site into a reasonably usable garden. What are your experiences? Do you have any tips? Can you help me?

Best regards,
Yours, Paul

In our case, it was more by chance. I saw an advertisement from a marketing agency for the lettering on a new van in our area. There was a mobile phone number on it. So, I called spontaneously to ask if he had time. During the conversation, it turned out that he had started his own business about three months earlier. That was already two years ago, and he has since delivered our entire outdoor area, including the installation of a cistern and complete paving of paths, carport, driveway, and terrace, all with top quality. Especially considering it is a young company from our town.

Well, now he is fully booked until the end of the year and sometimes even works as far away as Berlin. 😉

Landscape gardening is booming. Whether it’s new installations or maintenance.
My friend is fully booked for 2024 with a new installation or major redesign. Maintenance is now only provided for existing clients.

If my hands weren’t already worn out from the small amount of work I’ve done myself, I would retrain and start my own business. You wouldn’t even have to deliver the best quality to earn well in and around Berlin. Good quality and quick availability would be enough.

A brief explanation: Since last year (about three months after starting my first EL), I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and something related to my joints (not yet diagnosed). So it’s nothing terribly serious, but it’s not exactly great either.
Fine motor skills especially don’t work properly anymore.
My back and knees are still okay, oddly enough, as long as I get enough rest between work sessions.
What really wears me out, though, is that I can no longer see well up close once it gets dark (which, in my opinion, happens way too early).

I’m in my early 40s and my body is already giving up. Is there any way to complain about that?

Back and knees, strangely enough, still function (after sufficient rest between work sessions).
What exhausts me even more is that I can no longer see well up close once it gets somewhat dark (much earlier than I think it should).

I’m just in my early 40s, and already my body is giving out. Is there any way to make a complaint about that?

The two-year warranty period has ended. Now you can only take action in cases of intentional deception 😎

I still feel so young. Almost like I just finished my studies...
And already worn out.
