Hello lawn enthusiasts,
It looks like our Alpina lawn tractor is finally giving up. My husband is welding it right now and hopes it will last another season. But we should start looking for a replacement.
We originally bought the Alpina quite cheaply and rather out of necessity. It was immediately available and still within budget. The machine did what it was supposed to, but it broke after just a few years. It is now 9 years old, and I believe it has been welded somewhere every year for the last 4 years. So, it’s not very convincing.
That’s why I’m asking the community for recommendations. Our budget is max. 4,000 Euro. The area is about 2,000 sqm (21,500 sq ft) of lawn.
We are looking again for a ride-on lawn tractor. Please, no discussions about robotic or handheld devices.
I’m looking forward to your experiences and tips.

I knew my dealer from motorsport and was allowed to test mow with him. I would recommend that to everyone.
I had never used a mulcher or front-mounted mower before and was immediately impressed.
For large areas, the mower is usually replaced after about 10 years.
That was also my dealer's recommendation.
These are then the cheaper ones from the internet.
I think I got around 1,800 for my old one.
I also remembered the original price being a bit higher than it is today, but I could be mistaken.
As a layperson, I wouldn’t buy something like that used. There’s usually a good reason they need to be sold.
