Hello,
We are planning to install three tilt-and-slide doors. Does anyone have experience with the company Kneer?

Best regards,
Birgit

Why choose a PSK door instead of a lift-and-slide door?

Because the PSK doors are significantly cheaper and can be tilted.

I also think the threshold is a good protection against water intrusion.

My parents have a lift-and-slide door, and my aunt has a tilt-and-slide door.

From a handling perspective, the tilt door was terrible (just my personal opinion). The comfort level is completely different. It would often stick and wouldn’t open the first time. Then you had to try again to get the door open. Really frustrating....

The lift-and-slide door is more expensive, that’s true. But the comfort over 30 years is priceless. We have an offer here for a 3m (10 feet) lift-and-slide door from Gealan S9000 for about €3200, and alternatively, a tilt-and-slide door for about €1800.

Hello Zaba,
Which brand was the PSK door?

Best regards

I can’t tell you that anymore. But the handling was really unpleasant. Out of 10 times, I had to reposition at least 5 times to open the PSK door.

With some practice, I believe it gets easier, but for $1500, I wouldn’t want to give up that level of comfort.
