Hello everyone,

I recently installed the doors on my KALLAX shelving unit, but I noticed that after installation the doors tend to shift out of alignment. Specifically, they no longer sit perfectly flush and parallel to each other, but are slightly offset, causing small gaps to appear when closing that weren’t there before.

I have double-checked all adjustments and screws multiple times, and the sliding tracks seem to be properly secured. Have you had similar experiences with KALLAX doors shifting after installation? How do you ensure the doors stay aligned over time? Are there any special tips or technical details I should be aware of to prevent or fix this issue?

Looking forward to your advice and suggestions!

Are there any known experiences of KALLAX doors shifting out of alignment despite correct installation and adjustments, possibly due to manufacturing tolerances or material behavior?

In general, manufacturing tolerances for mass-produced furniture like KALLAX are minimal but cannot be completely ruled out. In particular, wood panels or particle boards react to moisture and temperature changes and may warp slightly.

In practice, this can usually be managed with proper adjustment. It is important to regularly readjust the doors and check the screws.

If you want more precise alignment over the long term, installing additional small spacers or stops in the tracks often helps reduce play.

Summary:
- Manufacturing tolerances and material warping can play a role
- Regular readjustment is recommended
- Optional: Additional stops/spacer screws for stability

If there are technical modifications for your model, you can sometimes find tips in specialized IKEA forums or video tutorials.
