Hello,

can someone help me confirm if this is being done correctly?

We are having a masonry stove installed. For this, a row of bricks was laid directly on the raw subfloor. This row is built up to the interior wall (in direct contact) where the stove will be placed, and the wall is plastered.

The edge insulation strip and insulation have now been installed around the outside of this brick row. Inside the brick row, of course, there is no insulation or underfloor heating.

On the outside, the flowing screed will be applied, and inside will be cement screed.

Is this soundproofed correctly? Is this the usual procedure?

Best regards

Hello questioner.
I only read your question today; the answer is: YES, it was done correctly!
Sound decoupling is applied where vibrations occur (in this case, the screed) that must not be transmitted to the building structure. The masonry chimney is not included. Otherwise, every fixed wall inside an apartment would have to be somehow sound decoupled from the raw ceiling, which would of course be nonsense.
