Hello,
a question for the architects: We have already designed our house and have a building permit / planning permission. However, for the actual construction phase (i.e., finding/contracting the trades and construction supervision), we would like to hire a different architect or builder. Would a new architect agree to this? Is it possible to build a house that they did not design themselves?
Thank you very much and best regards

Of course, that's possible. But what exactly is the scope of work for the first one? Design phases 1-4? Or beyond that as well?

There are rather few of them here.

What is the reason for changing?

Yes, that is possible. The service phases can also be seen as interfaces. Is there a detailed execution plan from the previous architect?

Certainly no problem, since the building permit / planning permission and a complete design are already available. However, such construction projects are often supervised not by architects but by civil engineers. There are firms that specialize in this. Ultimately, the decision lies with the person who will carry out the work later and what you have commissioned so far.

The question is whether the previous architect’s preliminary work is sufficient for the new architect to continue seamlessly. If no detailed construction drawings have been produced (which are not required for the building permit / planning permission), the new architect will likely have concerns.

If you want to replace the previous architect, I would suggest hiring a draftsman and a structural engineer / site manager. After the building permit / planning permission is granted, the architect is generally no longer needed for the plot.

Phases 1 to 4 were handled by our architect. After that, we managed the project ourselves and shared the construction management with the carpenter, who can also deliver a turnkey build. This worked very well. We saved money here. I am happy to recommend the architect.
