Hello,

the bathroom plumber from our builder says he will not install the water meter until all sanitary fittings are installed.

Is that correct?

What do you want to know, whether this is common? No idea, we had the meter installed long before even one washbasin was fitted...
If yours doesn’t do that, there’s probably not much you can do. Reason?

Yes, exactly. Whether there is a building regulation or something similar. Whether the utility company requires it. We find it illogical, as do several other contractors.

So, what now? He is building, after all^^ maybe he wants to get rid of some materials.

Is there such a building regulation? Do you have a source? If no such regulation exists, then I want to confront him and ask what this harassment is supposed to be about.

No, there is no such regulation. You should ask him to explain why he wants to handle it that way and what his reasoning is. After all, one would expect that someone has a good reason when making such a wise decision...
