Good evening everyone,
we are currently building a new house and are now about to grout the facing bricks. Since the person applying the grout couldn’t mix a nice cement gray color, we decided to use a ready-mixed mortar from the brand quick-mix. However, this involves an additional cost. We understand the extra charge for the material itself. The applicator, though, says there is also an additional fee for the labor because grouting with a ready-mixed mortar is more complex.
However, no one has been able to properly explain this to us.
Can anyone help?

People want to squeeze every last cent out of everything these days.
In connection with additional costs for working with pre-mixed mortar, this already sounds intentional...

Thank you for the information. I understand that the amount of material depends on the size of the house. But may I ask approximately how much the additional cost was? Unfortunately, we received almost no details about what was offset against the contractual service, so we don’t even know if the extra cost for the material is reasonable. Sorry, I just noticed that you asked me a question.
The surcharge was 2€ per square meter.
