Hello,

how is it usually handled with large lift-and-slide doors regarding roller shutters? Is it possible to install standard roller shutters even for, for example, a 6m (20 feet) wide window area?

Best regards,

Marc

We have a rough opening of 3.01 m (9 feet 11 inches), divided into two parts, so approximately 1.5 m (5 feet) louver length (aluminum).

The window manufacturer strongly advised against using continuous louvers back then, as they would be too unstable.

After several storms in the first year, that turned out to be absolutely correct.
I would guess that with 2 m (6 feet 7 inches) louver length, you should definitely reconsider the design.

It’s also quite useful to be able to control just the door shutter individually. That way, you can go in and out while the rest can stay shaded...

And that was exactly my intention with my 3.4m (11 feet) sliding door to split the external blinds. I can shade one side while still having access to the garden/patio.

Then, of course, they can be controlled separately via a 4-button switch.
