Hello,

how is it usually handled with large lift-and-slide doors regarding roller shutters? Is it possible to install standard roller shutters even for, for example, a 6m (20 feet) wide window area?

Best regards,

Marc

A track will be installed to guide the roller shutters. For 6m (20 feet), they will almost certainly be aluminum roller shutters, as plastic is no longer suitable for that length.

"Is" still nothing at all, that was just in the first draft and I was wondering how the roller shutter would work then. A proper roller shutter is mandatory here; blinds are not acceptable at all...

Thanks for the note about the tracks. Are there any pictures of how the tracks look? Despite some googling, I haven’t found anything so far.

Here with rail

But our door is only about 4 meters (13 feet) wide, and the rail is visible.

That’s good – the opportunity to rethink it should definitely be used. Any width under 15 m (50 feet) for this side of the house also looks awkward at an angle.

The lift-and-slide door itself should also be strongly recommended to be aluminum – even if it’s white. Unless you’re married to a weightlifter, it’s advisable to try operating such a heavy unit in the manufacturer’s showroom.

I see two doors there, each about one meter (3 feet) wide...
And I don’t understand why the roller shutters are separated there.

Huh?

On the left, there is a sliding door that is 4 meters wide (13 feet) and no other doors. One panel is fixed, and the door slides in front of it.
