roudee17Hi, quick question to the group,
We have a masonry garage with the following dimensions:
Outside:
Width: 6m (20 feet)
Length: 9m (30 feet)
Inside:
Width: 5.39m (17.7 feet)
Length: 8.325m (27.3 feet)
Now to my question. Sectional doors measuring 5m x 2.25m (16.4 ft x 7.4 ft) are significantly cheaper than ones sized 4.75m x 2.25m (15.6 ft x 7.4 ft). Since it seems like I have enough space inside, I was wondering if it would be alright to just go with a 5m wide door.
Is there anything you would advise against from your perspective?
Good luck,
roudee17

No, I have done that too.
Not as wide, but still wider than the driveway.

What are the rough opening dimensions of your gate?

What are your rough opening dimensions for the garage door? The opening in the masonry is 4.76 meters (15 ft 7 in). Brick cladding will be added on the outside and also to the reveal. However, in my opinion, this shouldn’t affect anything if the tracks are installed inside.
